compression preset:

light and balanced are lossless at the pixel level. aggressive re-encodes embedded JPEG images at the quality level below — faster, much smaller, but images degrade. text, vectors, fonts, and layout are never touched.

jpeg quality (1–100):

only applied when preset is aggressive. lower = smaller file, more jpeg artifacts. 60 is the default sweet spot; 30-40 is genuinely crushed; 80+ is near-lossless.

strip metadata (remove /Info, XMP, JavaScript, signatures, forms — ported from traceless-core) rasterize pages (convert text to images) — not yet implemented, returns 501
